The photo is a representation of the food safe Pumpkin dough bowl you will receive. Hand carved, these rustic wooden dough bowls(bateas) are solid and great looking. This one measures about 11 wide by 11-12 inches (tip) long. The depth on this beautiful bowl is about 2.5 inches.
We have had a lot of requests for bowls that are food safe. Happy to say we have finally done that. We have added 5 coats of an FDA approved food safe sealer to these round bowls. Understand that because of the food safe sealer, they will be a little shiny when you receive them. But with time and use, that will definitely diminish.
Please understand that these bowls are a natural handmade product and will never be "perfect" That is what makes them rustic and beautiful. Tone, smoothness, shape,etc, all rustic and never machine made. Please keep that in mind when you buy these. Also, if you have an issue with your item, let us resolve it. Sizes may vary +-1 inch or so. Put away the measuring tape.
NOTE: Most food safe bowls will never take a dark tone. So keep that in mind. And please don't get so hung up on that.
